This single-storey studio+house stands humbly among low-rise neighbors, facing its calm internal court. The owner would like to have a 3-bedroom with a flexible open plan work studio. Due to the site constraints, the main living space had to be oriented parallel to east-west orientation and therefore the design team has pushed this space inward, facing the main semi-enclosed courtyard on one side and a pocket courtyard on another. The courtyard size and the house form have been designed and simulated to ensure that the living space would receive abundant shaded light and natural ventilation, enhancing the dwellers’ wellbeing.
