This house is a single-story retirement home for two elderly owners. The house is to integrate universal design, good shading and wind control, energy-efficient, with plenty of greeneries.

The house is designed with Thai vernacular spatial sequence but with modern interpretation. The main living area is shaded year-round from a large semi-indoor space with additional shades from trees which provide overhead shade, making it possible to use the space with less air conditioning needs. Harsh wind from the side is protected by two flanking masses, making the central living space comfortable. The envelope is designed to have an opened and closed modes for wind and privacy control.
