The house is designed for an owner who is looking for a cozy retirement home with one elderly and one pet dog. The design emphasizes tropical climate-responsive strategies of solar prevention and natural ventilation.

The main functional usage, living-dining area, is to be mostly naturally ventilated when possible and therefore, are located in the north-south orientation with optimum shading in both direction. The parking and bedroom areas are flanked on two sides of the main living area. Architectural façade and landscape design – tree shapes – are designed to provide extra shading as needed.
